Family and friends pay tribute to model Abby Choi

HONG KONG (CNN) — Friends and family of Hong Kong model Abby Choi paid tribute to her on Tuesday, where police say dismembered body parts were found. SocialistPublic Broadcasting Report RTHK.

RTHK said Choi’s mother lit incense and brought Taoist paper offerings used in traditional funerals in front of the village house on the city’s northern outskirts.

Choi’s ex-husband, Alex Kwong, 28; Her brother Anthony, 31, and their father Guang Gao, 65, were charged with her murder. Alex Kwong’s mother, Jenny Li, 63, has been charged with perverting the course of justice, RTHK reported on Monday.

According to RTHK, the Kowloon Magistrate’s Court denied the four bail. They have yet to plead guilty.

On Sunday, police said investigators identified a skull, several ribs and hair believed to be Choi’s remains in a large stainless steel soup pot. Choi’s body and other body parts such as hands are missing. The police investigation is still ongoing.

It follows a police investigation that began last Wednesday after 28-year-old Choi was reported missing. Two days later, parts of his body were found at his home in Tai Po district, police said. A meat cleaver, electric saws and some clothes were recovered from the house, police said.

Choi, who has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, recently appeared as the digital cover model for luxury magazine L’Officiel Monaco and attended this year’s Paris Fashion Week.

The case shocked the city, as vivid details of the investigation dominated local media headlines, and thousands of people took to Choi’s social media accounts to express their condolences.

In a separate case, Choi’s ex-husband, who allegedly absconded after being granted bail in a case where he was accused of stealing jewelery between May 2013 and January 2015, appeared in court on Tuesday, RTHK reported. Alex Kwong pleaded not guilty to seven counts of robbery but did not appear for trial. RTHK said.

According to RTHK, the case was adjourned to Tuesday and Kuang was remanded in custody.
