According to the police version, the minor was playing with his neighbors on the afternoon of January 1. Later, his loss was reported by his relatives.
According to volunteer firefighters, the victim had signs of violence and the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) will determine the cause of death.
According to statistics from the National Civil Police (PNC), Villa Nueva, the municipality where the minor was located, accumulated 149 murders between January and November 2022, the second most violent in the entire country.
In 2022, 573 women were murdered in Guatemala, according to figures from the prosecutor’s office.
