The Ministry of Public Affairs (MP) sentenced a man in Amazonas state to 22 years and 6 months in prison on charges of aggravated sexual violence.
The sentence was given after evaluating the evidence presented in the case of raping a 10-year-old girl.
A sexual assault took place in the city of Puerto Ayacucho, where a man tried to forcefully penetrate a minor by removing her underwear.

The defendant, a business owner, did not immediately sell the bread to the victim, but promised to give it to him after a job and asked him to take it home.
On reaching the house, the convict took her to the room and stripped her of her clothes.
But the girl ran and told her mother what had happened.
The officers immediately considered the complaint and went to the address of the assailant and introduced MP.
At the presentence hearing, the 9th District Attorney charged the man with aggravated sexual assault.
Upon evaluation of the elements of the sentence presented by the attorney, the Amazonas Trial Court 1 issued the aforementioned measure of deprivation of liberty, and ordered imprisonment in the local Bolivarian National Police (PNB).
