Trump’s comments come after DeSantis hinted at a GOP presidential run as the former president is scheduled to announce his candidacy next week.

In this sense, the former head of the White House condemned the media for attacking his image, meanwhile, he noted, “It’s like in 2015 or 2016, Fox News fought me until I won, and then they didn’t. I could have been better.”

For his part, Virginia’s Republican lieutenant governor, Winsome Earle-Sears, told national media that “voters have spoken and said they want a different leader, who will understand when a real leader is in charge.”

In this sense, the supporter of Trump’s re-election in 2020 said, “A real leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage. It’s time to move on.”

DeSantis was re-elected governor in the midterm election with 59.4 percent of the vote against Democratic challenger Charlie Crist.

On the other hand, they are insisting from the Republican caucus that Trump should postpone the announcement of his candidacy until the second round of elections in the state of Georgia is celebrated.
