More deaths from Govt-19
“Monitoring over-mortality provides us with a comprehensive understanding of the impact of COVID-19 beyond the number of COVID-19 deaths reported by countries,” the WHO report said.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has been monitoring the global over-mortality rate as the epidemic develops over time and its impact and overall burden on countries, health systems and people.
Excessive mortality associated with Govit-19 is used to measure the direct and indirect impacts of the infection, it added.
“Excessive mortality is defined as the difference between the total number of deaths and the number of deaths expected in the absence of infection, i.e. in the absence of COVID-19,” he explained.
Excessive mortality includes deaths directly related to COV-19, which are calculated by countries and reported to the WHO, including deaths that are not directly accountable or reported to COVI-19.
This includes deaths that are indirectly associated with Govt-19, among other causes and diseases, as a result of the widespread impact of the epidemic on health systems and society.
Fewer deaths that occur under normal circumstances but are avoided due to epidemiological changes in social conditions and personal behaviors, for example fewer traffic deaths or local lockdowns and fewer flu deaths due to travel.
Deaths in the world
The WHO estimates that the global highest number of deaths associated with Covit-19 in the 24 months from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021 was 14.91 million, which is 9.49 million more than the worldwide record directly attributed to Covit-19. .
“Twenty countries, which represent approximately 50% of the world’s population, accounted for more than 80% of the estimated global high-risk deaths between January 2020 and December 2021,” it said.
These countries are Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russian Federation, South Africa, UK, Turkey, Ukraine. And the United States.
