Emmanuel Macron made the call in Brussels.

Representatives of the national government and the opposition will meet in Paris on November 11 as part of the Peace Forum programme.

This was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview with W Radio after the EU-SELAC summit.

After the meeting in Brussels, Venezuela’s Vice President Delci Rodríguez and Unitary Platform President Gerardo Plait accepted the French President’s invitation.

Brazilian President Lula da Silva attended the III Summit of the Heads of the European Union (EU) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC); Argentinean, Alberto Fernandez; Colombia’s President Gustavo Pedro and European Union representative Josep Borrell.

Latin American countries offered their solidarity with Venezuela.

The National Opposition, meanwhile, demanded “respect for primaries”. In addition, they mentioned in the talks, strategies to improve policies, the resumption of negotiations in Mexico, the next elections and the agreement signed on November 26, 2022.

The report pointed out: “This process should aim at the elimination of all forms of sanctions and their total lifting.”

Furthermore, they reached an agreement in which they proposed that “meeting participants continue the dialogue within the framework of established initiatives and may participate again during the Paris Peace Forum on November 11, 2023.”
