In the past few hours, there have been some harsh criticisms of the Telegram founder against WhatsApp. By his record Messenger service, the businessman lashed out against the Meta platform and criticized its security measures. According to his acid analysis, application failures in this case are not the result of an error, but the result of the system’s own design.

In the past few years, WhatsApp has achieved a huge expansion and gained a bigger and bigger user base. To this extent it is currently considered the world’s leading messaging service.

Despite its significant presence in the sector, it logically has competitors with a better position in the market. The most recognized case is Telegram, which, while still lagging behind in terms of popularity, already has a substantial user base. In this environment, the battle between the two companies is becoming more and more powerful, and the advertiser of this site decided to bring out one of the weak points of its competitor: security.

This is what the founder of Telegram said about WhatsApp

A few weeks ago, WhatsApp patched a security flaw that could affect a mobile device using a video or video call. To prevent this malware from entering the cell phone, it is recommended to install the latest version of the application, in which this problem has already been solved.

In any case, the app has had similar flaws over the years, which is what Telegram’s head pointed out.

Russian businessman Pavel Durov issued a scathing message against the Meta site. First, he began, “Hackers have full access to WhatsApp users’ cellphone information.” He recalled the aforementioned security flaw where the virus could penetrate only through a video file or video call.

In the same way, he questioned the official version that users will be protected by updating the app. “A WhatsApp security issue like this was discovered in 2018, another in 2019 and another in 2020. Yes, another in 2017. In 2016, WhatsApp didn’t even have encryption,” the post said.

Regarding the analysis of those impacts, Durov doubted that they were events. According to your description, those failures are part of the design of the system. “They are planted in the back doors. If a back door is found and needs to be removed, another one will be added,” he said.

He said that no user is exempt from security flaws, despite being the “richest person on Earth.” He added: “That’s why I deleted WhatsApp from my device years ago. Having it installed creates a gateway for them to enter your phone.

By pointing out these vulnerabilities, he insisted that he wasn’t seeking publicity because the service didn’t need it because of its popularity.

“You can use any messaging app you want, but stay away from WhatsApp,” Durov added.
