Luis Vicente Leon’s predictions for the remainder of 2023

Luis Vicente León, president of Datanálysis, presented his vision for the last semester of 2023 at La Conversa 2.0 for the 2001 brand.

The reality was otherwise and it affected the country’s institutions.

This miracle was short-lived and starting in the second half of 2022, the deflation of the bubble was already felt.

One of the first signs: the US currency resumed its upward trend, Diario 2001 reported.

“The war in Ukraine was one of the main factors. The government stopped counting on the Russian escape valve to avoid sanctions,” pointed out the head of Datalysis.

An economist with a master’s degree in business engineering, a professor at the Andrés Bello Catholic University (Ucab) and the Institute of Advanced Management Studies (IESA), he believes that Miraflores managed to make some important moves in recent months. At the very least, the economic downturn should begin to reverse.

“The refinement of PDVSA and the agreements reached with Chevron, for example, have given some oxygen in recent months. 2023 will not end like 2022,” he suggested.

The economist pointed out that the year will end with a 3% growth in the national economy.

“It is lower than expected. It is predicted to be around 6%,” he added.

“You’re asking me if they’re going to finalize the primary scheduled for October? That’s actually very difficult to answer,” Leon resolves.

“What I can say is that the anti-Chavismo sector should come together and have a truly unified candidate who will call the meeting. It’s not that this is further dividing the opposition,” he said.

A university professor questioned the leaders’ talk of taking revenge on each other, accusing them of working with the ruling party. For this reason, he pointed out the importance of assessing the real impact of this call on the Venezuelan people.

“I can say that very few people are aware of the primary. Common Venezuelans are still in the north to solve their economic problems”, he recalled that the punishment, people are tired of the problem of extending gasoline, public services, inflation and fifteen days to cover their basic expenses.

“Citizen is a bit more politically inclined. Undoubtedly, the primaries fueled that emphasis, but they did not displace their usual priorities from the agenda,” he explained.

“I can say that 70% people want change of command. “But only 10% of people believe that this change is possible now,” he asserted.

Faced with this situation, the analyst shared that 10% belief in Chavismo’s immobility in Miraflores until further notice.

“Among other reasons, there will be no change in government because the discourse of restructuring or revenge is maintained. Who wants to leave power at this risk?

Leon noted some announcements that the judicial prosecution of high-ranking Chavismo officials would be encouraged if the opposition ultimately wins the elections.

“There is a threat of million dollar international reward to various leaders of the ruling party, do you want them to be so relaxed and give you the presidential saree? It’s like ridiculous,” he said.
