The victims are the employees of the department’s infrastructure and facilities
Two people were killed and four others injured after lightning struck the road from Pacho to Chupada municipality in the Colombian department of Gundinamarca.
The deceased have been identified as Luis Eduardo Cardenas Herrera (52) and Miguel Samudio (21). Last Thursday, May 25 afternoon, the death occurred in the middle due to electrocution.
In this regard, the injured have been identified as Diego Alexander Martínez Figueroa (20), Alberto Moncada (57), Víctor Julio Mora Moreno (55) and Orlando Leal Albarracín (38).
As confirmed by Nicolás García Bustos, the same governor of Cundinamarca, the victims were employees of the Department’s Infrastructure and Privileges Company, and they were carrying out the installation of footprint plates in this area.
“This afternoon there was an electric shock in the village of Panama via Pacho-Cupata, where part of the team of the construction contractor of the Infrastructure and Privileges Company of Gundinamarca was engaged in the construction of a footprint plate. Unfortunately two workers died. Four people are receiving medical treatment,” said the head of the department.
