Guyanese celebrated Palm Sunday (+ photos)

As part of the Catholic tradition at the beginning of Holy Week, this Palm Sunday celebrated the blessing of Guyanese palms.

Manuel Díaz, parish priest of Nuestra Señora de Fátima, points out that they started with the blessing of the branches in front of the Hotel Razil at 8:00 a.m. and then they went in procession to the church. The same tour took place at 10 am.

A large number of devotees attended the Mass. About 550 people attended the first Mass this Sunday, and another 750 attended the second Mass with a prayer centering on “God’s Love.”

During this important week, Father Manuel Díaz calls on the Guyanese community, regardless of their religion, to return to the temples and restore the religious values ​​that “lead us to meet Jesus”.

Especially those who face suffering, remember that “Jesus takes those truths into himself and transforms them into new life.”

Activities

This Monday, April 3rd at 9:00 am, the Way of Life Cross made by children will be presented at the Civic Center, for which Diaz cordially invites the people of Guyana.

Following the parish schedule, the procession with the Nazarene will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Holy Wednesday through the various denominations, and on Thursday night, at 7:45 p.m., the Eucharistic Liturgy will take place.

On Easter Sunday, April 9, the Church of Nuestra Señora de Fátima will offer the Easter Eucharist at 8:00 am, 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
