The city’s first authority, Mayor Daniel Quintero, wrote on his Twitter account: “A small plane crashed in the field of Belen Rosales. “All capacities of the administration have been activated to help the victims,” he said.
“On take off, reporting engine failure, Olaya Herrera was not enough to return to the airport,” he added.
The DGRT of Medellin said, “In the emergency provided in Belen Rosales, four engines with 15 units of the official Medellin Fire Department are drawing attention to the crash of a small plane in the sector. There are also aeronautical firefighters on site,” they said.
Civil Aviation immediately released a statement for public comment.
