After tests, Microsoft decided to add the “System requirements not met” watermark to Windows 11

Windows 11 laptop

Find another reason that is bothering you Windows 11? Microsoft offers again. It hasn’t been long since I started the company A/B watermark testing On the desktop for people who have Windows 11 installed on unsupported devices. Now, for reasons known to Microsoft, it appears that the decision has been made to publish this annoying banner.

In the latest update pushed to the Release Preview Channel, the watermark is there for every running person Windows 11 On devices that don’t make class. The message has been changed a bit, and now it reads “System requirements not met. Go to Settings to find out more.” The good news? You can take steps to hide the watermark if it gets on your nerves

Given Microsoft’s desire for everyone to have the best possible experience from Windows 11, it’s not really surprising that the company has taken such an aggressive stance about encouraging people to install the operating system on only the right hardware. But this does nothing to lessen the discomfort that would be felt by those who find their desktop corrupted by this message.

As noted before Newer Windows, visiting Settings as suggested by the watermark will see an additional warning about system requirements not being met. However, it appears that there are no harmful side effects from installing Windows 11 on these devices. Microsoft previously warned of potential “harm” to these systems, and said that some security updates may not be delivered to unsupported systems.

For most people who see the warning, it will be annoying and unlikely to cause users to upgrade devices or go back to Windows 10.

Fortunately, a registry hack that can be used during the testing period to hide the watermark still works. Use the following steps to keep them out of sight if you don’t want to see them:

  1. Journalism windows + s To activate the Run dialog
  2. Write regedit and press Enters To run Registry Editor
  3. visit to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\UnsupportedHardwareNotificationCache
  4. Locate the key named SV2double click on it
  5. Change the value to 0 Then restart Windows
