Whoopi Goldberg breaks down in tears as she performs the chorus of “Joyful, Joyful”

It was an emotional day in the view Whoopi Goldberg has also reunited with the cast Sister Act 2: Back to habit.

The Oscar-winning star broke down in tears as she reunited with stars like Kathy Najimy, Wendi McKenna and Sheryl Lee Ralph, as well as members of the cast of the 1993 comedy. The re-creation of the “Joyful, Joyful” chorus scene moved everyone’s emotions.

Tanya Trotter took over as solo performer in Lauryn Hill’s absence. Goldberg appeared dressed as a nun and joined the choir. Ryan Tobey, who played the most important role in the film, performed with Goldberg’s daughter. The performers were joined by students from LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts and Performing Arts.

After the performance, Goldberg was overwhelmed with emotion and Ralph reached out to embrace her.

Sister Act 2: Back to habit It was directed by Bill Duke and released in 1993. The film was a follow-up to the 1992 film. Sister law It was loosely based on the life of Crenshaw High School choir teacher Iris Stevenson.

The second part follows Delores Van Cartier (Goldberg), who has become a popular actress in Las Vegas since she disguised herself as a nun to hide from the mob, and created an entire dinner show based on her experience. Delores reunites with her friends Sisters Mary Patrick, Mary Robert, and Mary Lazarus, who have come to her to ask for her help in saving their school.
