Zelda: The Kingdom Switching Tears

The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom’s Tears It scored – unsurprisingly – the biggest UK physical game launch of the year so far, comfortably beating what Hogwarts Legacy achieved in its first week by more than 50 per cent. It took first place from the aforementioned title and will likely stay there for the coming weeks. With the sequel pretty much taking over social media, FOMO is sure to fuel more sales of the Nintendo title.

Tears of the Kingdom had the best one-week physical sales of any Zelda game in UK history, and no PS5 and PS4 game could match it. Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and FIFA 23 all make way for it, while Dead Island 2 drops to sixth. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Even received a major sales bump; There were enough boxed buys to see it land in eighth place. With Sony highlighting even the game’s launch, this is the kind of release where the entire industry pauses for a second to jot down the experience.

These types of games don’t come around very often – perhaps the most recent being Elden Ring – so it’s no surprise to see them topping the sales charts. Expect the same to happen globally as well. Here’s the latest full 10.
