Officials indicated that the family will be notified and psychological support will be available.
Rescuers have recovered the body of the sixth — and believed to be final — victim of the Baltimore bridge collapse on March 26, officials announced Tuesday.
It marked a critical milestone in the weeks-long rescue operation following the disaster.
The victim has been identified as Jose Minor Lopez, 37, of Baltimore, Maryland.
CNN previously reported that Lopez has three children and is the main breadwinner for his family.
“Maryland State Police investigators, an FBI linguist and a team of victim specialists and mental health professionals notified the next of kin after a positive identification was confirmed,” said the Joint Command of the Police, Coast Guard and Joint Task Force. Other government agencies should respond to the disaster, it said in an online statement.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after a 96,000-ton cargo ship lost power, crashed into the structure, and killed six construction workers repairing sinkholes in it.
About 30,000 Marylanders use the bridge each day.
