MIAMI, Florida – Witness video shows the horrific moment a man with a long gun opened fire at an ATM at a Chase Bank in southwest Miami-Dade yesterday morning. A few minutes later, a police patrol appears on video and the recorders alert the officer to what is happening.
A woman who witnessed the incident said: “Shooting, shooting, shooting.” A Miami-Dade Police spokesperson confirmed: “When the incident was discovered, we found three people deceased.”
County police said the 4-year-old boy, Theodore Kudo, was in a vehicle with his mother, Odilis Bancroft, 43, withdrawing money from an ATM when the suspect pulled up nearby, shot them, and then took his own life. At the scene, there was chaos in the area where the victims lived as the authorities stopped the relatives who got the sad news. “I can’t believe it,” said one neighbor.
Neighbors commented that Odalis was having trouble keeping her ex-partner away. Odalis Bancroft worked at Jackson Health System, and in a statement they described her as a woman of “unsurpassed dedication, compassion and exceptional talent.”
Her relatives told Telemundo 51 that Bancroft was married and had a boyfriend, who she wanted to stay away from, even with a restraining order. Those close to her believe that it was her ex-boyfriend who killed her and her son in seconds.
No further information on the suspect is available. If you want to help the family with funeral expenses, you can do so by visiting GoFundMe.
