Microsoft's decision to port the Xbox-exclusive Sea of Thieves live service to the PS5 seems unlikely to put the company in choppy waters, as the title is currently charging PS Store Pre-order plans. At the time of writing, the Rare Sailing escapade has held several spots on PlayStation's upcoming bestseller list, including first place above heavyweights like Dragon's Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
The port will likely give the release a very long run, and with cross-play enabled across the collection, it's sure to have a positive outcome for players on PC and Xbox as well. It will be interesting to see how popular the game is on PlayStation, and whether other planned ports like Grounded and Hi-Fi Rush perform similarly.
