In this operation, they seized a firearm, ammunition, 2 cell phones, 50 payment control cards, a motorcycle and cash from the day’s collection.
Three criminals believed to be involved in a “dip by drop” extortion operation were detained by the Peruvian National Police (PNP) outside the Ciudad y Campo Market in Rímac, where they seized their victims.
Alerted by residents of the area, police officers arrested the extortionists: Angel Gonzalez (36), Jorman Rojas (31) and Maria Chappell (25); The first two are of Colombian nationality and the third is Venezuelan.
Gonzalez was found with a gun (.38 caliber) and ammunition, making him an illegal possessor of weapons.
Police officers seized two cellphones and about 50 payment control cards, including records of loans issued on different dates and payments allegedly made by the victims.
Also, a motorcycle and money from the day’s collection.
Those arrested have been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (Depingri) of the area for further processing of the case.
