Archive of Our Own (AO3) is a non-profit, open source fan-created archive of fan fiction and other fan work. It is known for its user-friendly design, comprehensive policies, and huge library of works.

Users can post, share and discover fanworks in a number of fandoms using this platform developed by Transformative Works.

Recently, many individuals have started asking questions on social media platforms regarding the closure of Archive of Our Own (AO3) (1And2And3And4And5And6And7And8).

These rumors have grown stronger as a result of the site’s ongoing issues causing outages in the past few days.

While this is still going on, there are many others (1And2They made persistent attempts to put an end to these rumors and advised others not to trust anything until it was officially reported.

Word on the street is that ao3 is shutting down??? ……. What about my Villanive Fix????

Last week, AO3 confirmed that it was experiencing slowdowns that have since been fixed. And just yesterday, the company too released New mute tool that hides content from users you select.

If anything, these background changes are likely partly to blame for the recent outages or outages that AO3 has experienced.

We expect AO3 to inform its users as soon as possible, just as they did in 2015 When similar rumors first surfaced.

However, we will track the situation and post an update if and when there are any further developments regarding the matter.

05:29 PM (Indian Time): Currently, the AO3 platform is not available, but it is due to an outage, and there is still no official news about its possible shutdown..
