Google has given its first official look at the Assistant running on the Galaxy Watch 4 in february. There is a new design coming after the Pixel phone experience. Playing with “Hey Google” opens a full-screen user interface with a black background and a four-color light bar at the bottom that interacts with voice input.
The assistant logo also appears briefly with the phrase “Hey, how can I help?” Oriented, while time appears curved at the top. Besides, the results user interface has also been updated with enhanced background blur all the time.
Starting today, Galaxy Watch4 users will also be able to download the Google Assistant on their device for access to quick and natural voice interactions, quick answers to questions, and help on the go.
Compared to what was previously available on Wear OS 2, Google is touting “faster response times than ever before.” From our brief use today, it appears that the audio transcription is processed on the device and appears almost instantaneously. Available actions Include:
- Manage your time, “Start a timer”, “Set an alarm”, “Set reminders”
- Stay in touch with family and friends, “Start a call”, “Send a message”
- Control your smart home, “Turn on the bedroom light”
- Get an answer to your questions, “Where’s the nearest coffee shop?” , “How is the weather today?”

Oddly enough, Galaxy Watch 4 users are simply being asked to update “AssistantWhich appears in Google Play > My Apps List. (You can also search for it in Play Store on the watch.) After downloading the latest version, Google Assistant will appear as a new icon in the app launcher.
The launch prompts you to “activate the Google Assistant on your watch”, directing users to their phones to complete the relatively long process.
- Activate Google Assistant.
- Access the Google Assistant via “Hey Google” and agree to Voice Match.
- Save the audio is your choice.
- You get personalized results on your watch.
- Talk to your assistant using a button.
In addition to the app icon and the important word, the assistant can be activated via the hardware key: Settings app > Advanced features > Customize keys. It appears under “double-press” or “press and hold” the Home key. You can enable/disable “Hey Google” and “Speech output” in Settings > Google > Assistant.
Google Assistant will be available in 10 markets, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, UK and USA. It will also support 12 languages including Danish, English (American, Canadian, UK, Australian, Irish), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French (Canadian and France), and Taiwanese.
With this launch, Google has finished rolling out all but one of the new/updated first party apps (youtube musicAnd Google PayAnd maps) alongside Wear OS 3 at I/O last year. Fitbit app will appear on Pixel Watch This fall.
