Dragon's Dogma 2 will get 'Start New Game', Art of Metamorphosis item boost, 30 FPS max option, and more in a future patch

Capcom has revealed the planned updates for the recently released Dragon's Dogma 2.

The headline here is the addition of the option to start a new game when save data is already there. Inexplicably, Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't include this option, even though modders had already forced it into the PC version.

Elsewhere, Capcom said it will increase the number of Art of Metamorphosis items available in Pawn Guilds to 99. Art of Metamorphosis allows you to modify your character, and is one of several day-one microtransactions that Capcom currently sells for real money.

Players have criticized Dragon's Dogma 2's frame rate, which Capcom said was related to the strain placed on CPUs by a large number of NPCs. “To all Dragon's Dogma 2 players!” Capcom said in its statement. “We plan to release patches containing the following updates and fixes in the near future, and will release them as soon as they are ready for distribution on each platform. Thank you for your patience and support!”

Despite controversy over microtransactions and backlash over the game's performance, especially on PC, Dragon's Dogma 2 is Capcom's biggest single-player game launch on Steam, with an impressive peak of 228,585 over the weekend.
