On Wednesday night, DeAndre Hopkins put on Buffalo bills Fans went into a frenzy when he posted an Instagram story that included the lyrics to the song “Buffalo Soldier.” In the story picture is Hopkins in a car, possibly on his way out of Arizona?

Hopkins deleted the story shortly thereafter, but it was reported that the receiver could be obtained via trade. Originally, it was reported that the team would have to offer at least a second-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals for Hopkins, but SI.com’s Albert Breer wrote recently that the asking price may be closer to the price Houston Texans received for Brandin’s Chefs.

I think he’ll return more than Brandin Cox did for the Texans — Houston got a 2023 fifth-rounder and a 24-sixth round from the Cowboys — but he’ll likely be closer to that than what Arizona is looking for.

Brier cited Hopkins’ age, injuries, and hat-hitting ($19.45 million in 2023) among the reasons Hopkins would be difficult to trade. Of course, Arizona could eat some of the cover hit to make the trade more manageable for a team like the Bills.

Bills Hopkins talks gained traction on social media earlier in the day when NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah listed Buffalo as the No. 1 potential touchdown run to the recipient. While Jeremiah wasn’t reporting anything other than Hopkins’ fit and Buffalo’s Super Bowl-ready roster, he set the Bills Mafia on a frenzy.

While this is all speculation at this point, there is a new bit of information that looks promising regarding a potential deal. It was reported that Bills quarterback Josh Allen has started following Hopkins on Instagram Wednesday night. Time will tell if there’s anything to Hopkins’ Instagram Story, but if Brandon Bean is looking forward to it all this season, Hopkins will be the player to add.
