Android 13 has new features aimed at improving the experience of using a single device for work and play. according to googleWork profiles redesigned in Android 13 based on them Last year’s improvements To keep employee personal data separate from their business data and make the user experience better and more productive, all while still adhering to the IT department’s management policies.

An improvement in Android 13 allows employees to decide whether the app should be opened in their personal or work profile. This can be useful for keeping corporate videos off personal YouTube watchlists, as Google suggests in one example. Employees can also have two photo galleries on their devices (one for personal use and one for work) for a more coordinated sharing experience with personal and business apps.

Android 13 is also adding smart dictation to work profile apps for Pixel users which Google says will keep “corporate jargon dictated by work emails out of personal chats”. Meanwhile, a new Central Hub feature allows employees to more easily manage their device’s security and privacy settings, see what data is being shared with company administrators and what restrictions they’ve placed on devices. Administrators also have more control over Wi-Fi connectivity on devices, adding security logs for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and password activities in line with the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP).

More features are listed as ‘Coming Soon’ for Android 13. Lost Mode will allow IT admins to block access and locate lost or stolen company-owned devices, while Stay Private on Wi-Fi will automatically encrypt traffic when switching profiles by Employee for use on the company’s wireless network. Finally, employees will be able to securely manage messages, notifications, and photos on their phones from company-issued Chromebooks.
