American confesses to killing Colombian DJ (+VIDEO)

John Poulos, an American citizen, has admitted that he was the man who killed his former partner, the famous Colombian DJ Valentina Trespalácios, in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, at the end of January 2023, probably and accidentally.

Poulos admitted during his oral hearing that he may have strangled the 23-year-old girl while they were having sex with an object around their necks in intimate moments.

“I thought it happened, because we had used it several times before, that day, but then I was in a drug and alcohol induced state, and I don't know what happened, I don't know if I did it. If she did, she had it around her neck when I woke up,” she said. Poulos commented on the tie that caused his ex-partner's death.

“I was devastated, I loved her, I was with her for nine months, I talked to her every day for nine months. Imagine killing someone you love, the room was spinning, I was on a lot of drugs, so it was like a cannon was going off,” he said.

The American also admitted to cutting and then disposing of the organ that caused the young woman's death. At that point he checked his pulse and realized Trespalacios was dead.

“I tried to escape”

According to his version, reported by local news agency Noticias Caracol, he decided to flee Colombia because he was afraid that Trespalacios friends would kill him if they learned the young woman was dead.

“Her friends were going to kill me. “I made a terrible decision, I escaped and put her in a blue suitcase,” he said.

If convicted on both counts, the American faces up to 50 years in prison. He could impose 20 to 40 years in prison only for aggravated femicide; The punishment for destroying evidence is 4 to 12 years.
