AUGUSTA, GA – The 2022 Masters Championships goes down on Sunday, and while Scotty Scheffler remains the 36th and 54th hole leader, Rory McIlroy’s Sterling roundup has turned the Augusta National on its head. McIlroy matched the best Sunday round in Masters history, scoring 8-under-64 to stand as club leader as Schaeffler looks to hold out solidly on the last few holes.
The winner gets $2.7 million and a green jacket out of the way, but Scheffler has every advantage given his all-week play and confidence in being the number one golfer in the world. For Tiger Woods, a bold and impressive effort over the first two days resulted in the five-time Masters winner winning the 22nd straight championship at Augusta National. However, Tiger followed it up with the worst run of his career here, a 6-over-78, and That matches the effort on Sunday versus 156 points on the weekend.
