Carmanah Receives USD$1 Million Outdoor Illumination Order from Mexico

Carmanah of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, reports that Mexican officials have ordered nearly USD$1 million of Carmanah’s EG-series of solar outdoor lighting for a project. According to Carmanah, the new standalone EG-series solar outdoor lights, met all performance requirements and provided the necessary economics. The series boasts a lower capital cost, significant energy cost savings, and eliminates the need for electrical cabling throughout the deployment. The product was designed to provide excellent vandalism and theft protection.

The project was won jointly by Carmanah and local partner Semex, S.A. de C.V. In 2010, Carmanah Technologies and Semex entered into a manufacturing and distribution agreement to allow both companies to bring leading-edge solar outdoor lighting to Mexico. This order is apparently a result of the manufacturing and distribution agreement.
