Share it It is not in service. By late afternoon (in Latin America), a global outage of the most important mobile messaging service was reported, with both the mobile and web versions down. The drop lasted for several minutes, and the app was unable to send messages or make calls. Currently, the reasons behind WhatsApp’s downfall are unknown.

For several minutes, WhatsApp was positioned on top searches and not for download reasons. Users started experiencing failures in sending messages or calls, affecting their daily lives. Keep in mind that when the application crashes, it usually happens in multiple regions or in this case worldwide.

The first reports are reports of users who tried to send messages, but these were not sent and were put on hold. They can’t upload photos, videos or make calls.

This Wednesday, July 19, one of the first reports was the Town Detector portal, which provided details about the issue that WhatsApp faced. The errors started coming at 3:00 pm (Peruvian time) and increased after half an hour, which is the critical point where all users started experiencing failures in their WhatsApp service.

At this time, Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, did not report any failures its app experienced and users continued to be unable to access their conversations. One of the alternatives in this case is the Telegram app, which is one of the most widely used instant messaging apps worldwide, as happened in the previous WhatsApp outages.
