Artificial intelligence (AI) research firm OpenAI on Wednesday announced ChatGPT, an AI dialogue-based chatbot prototype capable of understanding natural language and responding in natural language. Since then, it has taken the internet by storm, as people are amazed at the intelligence of the AI-powered robot. Some have even called it an alternative to Google, as it is able to offer solutions to complex problems directly, “almost like a personal know-it-all tutor.”
“We trained a model called ChatGPT that interacts in a conversational manner. The dialogue format makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer follow-up questions, admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect constructs, and reject inappropriate requests,” OpenAI wrote in its announcement on the ChatGPT page.
ChatGPT is based on GPT-3.5, a language model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. However, while the older GPT-3 model only took text prompts and tried to continue doing so with its own generated text, ChatGPT is much more engaging. He is much better at creating detailed text and can even come up with poems. Another unique feature is memory.
