Brazilian authorities are on high alert after several shark attacks in recent days. The first happened last Sunday and the second 24 hours later. Specifically, three cases occurred off the coast of Recife.
They declared the places in “critical situation and at risk of new attacks” leaving a total of three people mutilated by the bites of these animals.
Brazilian media reported that the first tragic incident occurred when a 14-year-old girl was bathing at Petede Beach. Suddenly, a shark bites him brutally, leaving a deep wound on his leg. The young man had to be airlifted to hospital for surgery.

The next attack happened on Monday, less than 24 hours later. A 15-year-old girl was killed by a shark on the same beach. Fortunately, he was saved and rushed to a rehabilitation hospital.
Not much is known about the third event, but popular media reports suggest it may have happened in the past few hours.
In critical videos circulating on social networks, two mutilated victims are seen. One lost her forearm and the other received a large bite on her thigh.
Despite these attacks, officials pointed out that there are signs prohibiting entry into the sea in the area of ​​dangerous events. However, the bathers ignore it and enter the water. Verben Monteiro, Chief of Preventive Operations for the Fire Department explained this.
Meanwhile, the Regional Shark Incident Monitoring Group noted that experts are analyzing the first two incidents. They are also examining the “short interval” in which the attacks took place.
