At just 11 years old, Meiker Montaño walked with 10 of his cousins in the Darien forest for three months, carrying his oxygen tank on his back to breathe. Only half of his heart is working. According to Univisión, the entire family managed to reach the United States.

Meigher’s heart was only half functioning and several surgeries were performed to alleviate his condition. They came to America hoping that Minor would get a new heart.
The family told different international media that they crossed the jungle in five days. On the way to Darien, they found other immigrants who offered help.
Several people helped him load his oxygen tank, sometimes running out of food, but they managed to solve the problem.
