Many people living in Latin America decide to migrate to other countries in search of a better future. Many of them have to leave their families to advance, and after years of hard work, some decide to return to the land of their birth. In a Venezuelan YouTube video, he explained his view on the matter and, together with his father, analyzed the causes of this growing phenomenon.

The situation in Latin America

The video began by reflecting on the economic situation in Latin America and highlighted some of the problems caused by the pandemic, such as the recession affecting the region. According to @oswarditox, many people perceive a lack of economic opportunities and see America as a more prosperous place, one of the countries receiving thousands of immigrants.

Countries such as Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua began mass immigration to the United States due to the political and economic crisis in each country. Another aspect highlighted by @oswarditox is the differences between living standards in Latin America and the US.

As Venezuela noted, the popular perception is that even poor citizens in the United States have access to luxuries like iPhones and cars, while the situation is different in Latin America.

“A poor person in America has an iPhone and a car. In Latin America, no. “Many people think that the solution is to give up because everything is bad,” said the foreigner. Despite economic problems in Latin America, the YouTuber stressed the importance of considering all options before deciding to immigrate.

As all countries in general are facing persistent economic problems, the young man suggested better management of resources and search for alternatives within the region before resorting to migration as the only solution.
