Trader Joe's recalls dumplings that may contain hard plastic

Trader Joe's issued a recall notice Saturday to customers who purchased its Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings, warning that the product may contain hard plastic from a permanent marker.

USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) He said About 61,839 pounds of dumplings are being recalled for fear they may be “contaminated with foreign materials.”

The soup patties, made by CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation, come in 6 oz. Boxes with plastic trays containing six pieces.

They were produced on December 7, 2023, and shipped to Trader Joe's retail locations nationwide.

Trader Joe's discovered the problem after consumers reported finding hard plastic in their dumplings. There have been no reports of adverse reactions or injuries as a result of consumption, but FSIS said it remains concerned that consumers may be keeping the products in their freezers.

FSIS advised consumers not to eat the products and return to the place of purchase or throw away the products.

The recalled products have lot codes “03.07.25.C1-1” and “03.07.25.C1-2” on the side of the box. The products bear facility number “P-46009” listed inside the USDA inspection tag, the agency said.
