Tom Brady says he tried to stop the disastrous stunt play that left him flat on his face and was intercepted by Leonard Fournette
  • Tom Brady and the Buccaneers scored a 21-16 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Munich, Germany on Sunday.

  • In an attempt at a trick, Leonard Fortnite running back threw a pass assigned to Brady that was intercepted.

  • After the match, Brady said he tried to cancel the play before the hijacker.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their second game in a row on Sunday, as they made their way to Munich, Germany, defeating the Seattle Seahawks 21-16.

While the Buccaneers were able to hold out for a relatively comfortable win, the game wasn’t without stumbles, specifically one bad stumble trying a trick from Brady.

Leading 14-3 in the third quarter, Brady and the Buccaneers decided to give the fans in Germany an offer.

Facing 1st and 10th on the cusp of the red zone, Brady lined up to the left side of the shot as a wide receiver, with Leonard Fournette set back to pick up a shotgun straight from the center.

It looked as if the Buccaneers were just trying some brutal attack, but after they faked the ball for a run, Fournette jumped again and threw a ball in Brady’s direction.

Things fell apart quickly.

Brady slid onto the grass, leaving Seahawks quarterback Tariq Wolin as the only man on the ball. He made the catch, and gave Fortnite the first interception of his career.

Adding a bit of insult to injury, Brady was called to falter in play, giving the Seahawks an extra 10 yards from the field position.

While the play ended hilariously, it’s not entirely surprising that the pirates would try, given how the Seahawks defended Brady earlier in the game.

In a previous wild play, Seattle Brady was left completely exposed when he turned into a decoy position so that Fortnite could take the live shot.

In that play, Fortnite rushes for a short gain, but the pirates seem to think they might be able to pull one fast on the Seahawks if they ask for a similar look.

“I was hoping I’d be wide open, and maybe I’d be in the lead,” Brady said after the match. “I think they were pretty aware the second, and they said ‘cover it, cover it’, and I was on the sidelines and I tried to scream, ‘Lenny, no!’

“But in hindsight, the ball went up in the air and I was trying to – whatever it was, jump up and drop it, but I ended up falling on my face.”

“It could have been so much fun,” Brady concluded. “I think I’ve had a few crashes. I’ve never had a landing, though.”

Fortunately for Brady, it all worked out in the end. On the next drive, Brady called wide receiver Chris Goodwin for a touchdown strike that put the Buccaneers ahead 21-3, giving them enough breathing space to cling to the win.
