The teaser for the Netflix series King Kong is monsters throughout

Godzilla x Kong: The New EmpireContinuing the Adam Wingard movie until 2021 Godzilla vs. Kongin cinemas March 2024. You won’t have to wait nearly long for the next installment in the so-called “Monsterverse,” however: Netflix on Monday released the first teaser for Skull Islandan animated series set in the King Kong house of the same name.

Produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios, Behind the Studio Castlevania And Masters of the Universe: RevelationsAnd Skull Island Follows the adventures of a group of explorers who rescue a mysterious woman named Annie from the ocean, then set out on an adventure to explore the mythical island home of mythical prehistoric beasts like [breathlessly searches Wikipedia] Psychoculture, Sirenjaw, Swamp Locust, Skullcrawlers, and of course: Kong.

The trailer looks good: It offers glimpses of several of the aforementioned monsters ripping, tearing, jumping and dashing after the series’ hapless protagonists, and there’s a great shot of a woman (presumably Annie) swinging from a vine and getting a drop on an armored goof. it is not Godzilla: The Seriesbut I certainly wouldn’t look like a giant monkey gift in my face and say no to a new animation on a beloved franchise.

Skull Island It will premiere on Netflix on June 22nd. Featuring vocal performances by Nicholas Cantu (The Walking Dead: A World Beyond), Mae Whitman (DUFF), Darren Barnett (I haven’t done it before), Benjamin Bratt (poker face), Betty Gilpin (Mrs. Davis), and more.
