Oleg Siniegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, announced that six people were killed and at least 38 wounded in the first attack with two guided missiles against the Epitsentr building materials hypermarket. The fire engulfed at least 15,000 square meters of the building. According to the prosecutor’s office, Russian forces fired S-300 missiles.
“There is a large number of missing people” and “many are injured,” Terezov stressed. “This is pure terror,” he wrote in a telegram. Zelensky, for his part, said the services were mobilized to help people and put out the fire.
A second attack on a residential area
Three hours later, Sinikubov noted that Russia also attacked the center of Kharkiv. According to the head of the military administration, at least 12 people were injured, including a 13-year-old boy who was hospitalized. Terezov noted that the blast occurred in a densely populated residential area.
“If Ukraine has sufficient air defense systems and modern fighter jets, such Russian attacks would be impossible. That is why we call on all leaders, all states: significant improvement in air defense and sufficient capabilities to destroy Russian terrorists is needed,” Zelensky wrote.
“This is a task that must be accomplished and it can only be carried out together with the world. Every day we ask the world to provide air defense and save our people. Every decision that is not taken to support us results in the loss of our people,” he stressed.
