Fede Valverde scored two perfect goals in the first match before the start of the new season.
Andrei Lunin – 5: The first half was bad as the Ukrainian could have done better in both goals but he stopped strongly in the second half 45.
Lucas Vazquez – 6: He struggled with Pulisic’s feints and agility early on, but gradually developed into the game and was a solid presence on the counter press.
Eder Militao – 6: Relatively little work to do outside of the occasional defense.
Nacho – 5: The midfield left Nacho exposed on a few occasions, and he had to deal with Milan’s counter-attack.
Ferland Mendy – 4: Rusty – numerous heavy touches and misplaced passes.
Toni Kroos – 7: Playing as a deep playmaker, the German orchestrated almost every attack and was adept at stopping play, notably pushing the ball off Pulisic on more than one occasion.
Fede Valverde-9: Great game – Valverde looks ready for the new season. The only player to play the full 90 minutes. He scored two goals well and set up the third goal with a decisive tackle on Rafael Leao.
Eduardo Camavinga – 6: He played as a number 8 in front of Kroos on the left side of midfield, and had a few lopsided runs that showed his line-breaking ability.
Jude Bellingham – 7: Positive first appearance in Real Madrid shirt. Some silky touches and clever movement. He united well with Brahim Diaz and almost scored the opening goal of the match.
Ibrahim Diaz – 8: Big bright spark. One of the best players in the first half. Milan dropped dribbling and was constantly moving off the ball, looking for pockets of space.
Joselo-6: A good start in his return to Real Madrid, he used his body efficiently and was always a target for the team to play in and help with the ball.
Alternatives:
Dani Carvajal – 6: Lively down right side with some positive touches and good energy.
Tony Rudiger – 6: He didn’t take anything for granted and brought his typical aggressive game to the Rose Bowl.
David Alaba – 6: He made several well-timed tackles and neatly distributed the ball from behind.
Fran Garcia – 6: He gave fans a few glimpses of the pace and staggering ability down the left.
Chwamini – 6: He made a number of good interceptions to help launch Madrid’s counter-attack.
Luka Modric – 6: Fluid on the ball, consistent outlet for teammates.
Nico Paz – 6He was amazed by his defensive capabilities, as he made some important tackles at the top of the field to gain possession of the ball.
Vinicius Junior – 6: He overplayed on several occasions or took too many touches, but it still didn’t stop him from going beyond 1v1 on a breakaway and clinically sending his shot into the bottom corner.
Rodrygo goes – 6: Such a smooth player on the ball, Rodrygo’s value on the ball is very important to this team.
