The Bengals and Patriots have half of football on the books, and within two quarters it was all Cincinnati. They led 22-0 going into half time after a heated offensive start. Joe Burrow led back-to-back touchdown drives to start the afternoon, including a 78-yard run on the first drive of a game that took over two minutes to reach the end zone.
Meanwhile, it’s another – albeit familiar – story for the Patriots. Bill Belichick watched his offense on each of their first four possessions to start the game, headed by two-of-three and a walkout on the first two drives of the day. Even after a clutch interception by Devin McCourty off Boro, Mack Jones and the offense couldn’t do anything with it as they kicked the ball back to Cincinnati after just four plays.
So, will the Bengals hang on to going 11-4 on the season or will the Patriots keep their postseason hopes alive with a comeback in the second half? We’re about to find out.
