A customer at a food and entertainment establishment near Dallas shot and killed a security guard after arguing with him about the restaurant’s rules, police said.
Derek Phillips, 47, of Arlington, was shot to death at the Brickhouse Lounge in DeSoto on Friday around 10 p.m., police said.
The suspect tried to flee and crashed his vehicle in nearby Glen Heights, but was caught, police Lt. Chris Huerta said Saturday.
Witnesses told police the suspect was shot by a passerby as he tried to flee. Huerta did not respond to messages seeking more details on Saturday.
The suspect is 48-year-old Toussel Kuhn of Savannah. He is being held in Dallas without bond. Court documents did not name an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
