CINCINNATI — The Bearcats welcome back the Kelce brothers this week as Jason met with the media on Thursday to discuss the impact New Heights Live will have on the university. He also became involved in trying to convince Joe Burrow to choose UCLA over LSU in 2018.
“When Joe was transferring from Ohio State, I sent him a text message on behalf of Cincinnati trying to lure him to college,” Kelce said at a media scrum before jokingly talking about what could have been. “Who knows what he could have been. He could have been a good player if he had come here.”
Burrow ended up doing well for himself as the No. 1 NFL player selected out of LSU. Cincinnati also got some great moments from Desmond Ridder as a ripple effect.
A portion of proceeds from ticket sales from tonight's event will be donated to the Cincy Reigns, the official NIL group of Cincinnati athletics.
“Travis and I are incredibly honored,” Jason said of the live event. “Anytime we go back, there's a wave of emotions and memories that really hits you.”
Kelce just finished his NFL Hall of Fame career, with a foundation built during his time in Cincinnati. Events like this will help other prospective Bearcats reach these kind of heights in the future. The fun starts at 7pm inside Fifth Third Square. Check out Kelce's full comments on Burrow below.
