Indications are that the Akuma Arrives Fighting Pass will be available soon suggesting a release window for Akuma in Street Fighter 6

As the first wave of DLC for Street Fighter 6 draws to a close, we're starting to notice a pattern in how Capcom releases its DLC fighters. First, they'll drop a character trailer, then they'll release either a battle pass to celebrate their arrival or a game trailer, and then they'll finally release the fighter.

Notably, the Rashid Access Pass, AKI Battle Pass, and ED Battle Pass were all released at the beginning of their respective months. By the end of each month, the character was available in the game.

So far, the Akuma Fighting Pass has not been announced yet, but there are clues and even a hint that this could happen sooner than expected. In other words, the Akuma Fighting Pass could be released as soon as tomorrow or the next day.

On a Japanese Twitter account, a few shots of Akuma were posted with a tagline that simply said “April 1st.” To be clear, April Fool's Day is common in Japan, although it's not quite as recognized as it is here in North America.

Of course, April 1 is not documented as Akuma's birthday. Instead, his date of birth is simply noted as “unknown”, like many other details and facts regarding Akuma in Street Fighter lore.

However, it should be noted that the English Street Fighter Twitter account did not post a similar tweet linking Akuma to April 1st.

In this case, a maintenance period is scheduled for tonight at 10 PM PDT and lasts for approximately three hours – until the early hours of April 1. There's currently no information on the purpose of this maintenance period, but the release of the Akuma Arrives Fighting Pass is starting to look like a viable guess.

By logging into Street Fighter 6, fans are explicitly told that the next fight pass is scheduled to start on April 1st at 0:00. The fighting pass that came before that was the “Mega Man Gala Fighting Pass”, which didn't actually have anything to do with the arrival of the DLC character.

The official Japanese Twitter account for Street Fighter states that the Akuma hint indicates that the next fighting pass is the Akuma Arrives Fighting Pass. This will also fit into how previous Battle Passes are handled upon arrival considering they always happen near the beginning of the month.

It should be noted that the Battle Pass for Rashid was released on July 4, 2023. After 20 days, Rashid became available as a playable character in Street Fighter 6 on July 24, 2023.

The AKI Arrives Fighting Pass was launched on September 1, 2023. It later became available for purchase and use starting on September 27, 2023.

Finally, there is the Ed Arrives Fighting Pass which was released on February 1, 2024. Ed will then become a playable character for those who download it starting on February 27, 2024.

This suggests that we may be getting an Akuma trailer very soon. As noted before, gameplay trailers for DLC characters have so far been released either a few days before or a few days after the corresponding battle pass arrives.

With all this in mind, Capcom may be preparing for an Akuma release window somewhere between April 22nd and 30th. Previously, characters were released on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of the week, so they will likely be released in one day. From those days.

We'll have to see how things develop from here, but it seems likely that we'll get more information about Akuma very soon.
