Galaxy S23 Ultra
TL; DR
- The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is said to cost $469.
- The processor, cellular components, and screen accounted for most of the bill.
- This analysis does not take into account other costs, such as marketing and labor.
Now, a tracking and analytics company Counterpoint Research He analyzed the phone’s bill of materials (BoM), claiming that a premium smartphone costs $469.
Counterpoint adds that the processor and cellular components accounted for the largest part of the change (35% of the total BoM). This was followed by the show (18%) and the “other” category (15%). The last category consists of features such as vibration motor, waterproofing, and more.
However, it must be emphasized that this analysis does not mean that Samsung makes $730 on every Galaxy S23 Ultra model sold in the US. These reports do not include other costs such as labor, marketing, software testing, research, and more.
No word on BoM for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the tracking company previously indicated that the $1,199 Galaxy S21 Ultra costs $533. The S20 Ultra, in turn, was 7% cheaper than the S21 Ultra. This indicates that Samsung may increase its profit margin with the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
