Google organizes its own smart home app

Google wants to organize an event feed in its Home app to make it easier to see what’s happening in your smart home. An update coming later this month will have a ‘clutter-free layout’ Search giant says, and it will group related entries to avoid having to scroll through the Recurring Events List. The above screenshot released by the company shows a more concise and streamlined design.

Along with this feed update, the company has officially announced a new central privacy section, as well as updated controls. It started showing up last week. The privacy section launches this week, allows you to manage home settings such as presence sensing and provides easy viewing of your data. Meanwhile, new smart home controls provide a simple, at-a-glance view of the status of your smart home devices without the need for many taps, similar to the controls Google is included with Android 11. Google says it will roll out “in the next few weeks”.
