MizarVision, a Chinese geospatial and satellite remote sensing company, has sent an audio recording to the Chinese newspaper Global Times that appears to have captured warnings issued by Chinese military pilots to a US spy plane that flew over China on July 13. The Taiwan Strait is a sensitive area for tensions between China and Taiwan.
MizarVision technicians explained to the media that the alert from China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was made through the international flight’s emergency frequencies and captured by air traffic control facilities.
Following a warning in Chinese, the pilot spoke to a US Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft in English.
“US aircraft, this is the Chinese PLA Air Force. It approaches the Chinese border. “Retreat immediately or you will be stopped,” the Chinese military warned.
In response, the American airline’s crew noted that it “operates with due respect in international airspace.” “I was conducting legitimate military operations beyond the national airspace of any coastal state,” the pilot added.
In a statement after the event, the US Seventh Fleet said its aircraft operated in accordance with international law within the framework of Washington’s mission to protect “the rights and freedoms of navigation of all nations”. “The transit of aircraft through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates America’s commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” he added.
On the day of the incident, Taiwanese media reported that several of the PLA’s 26 fighter jets, including the J-10, J-11, J-16 and Su-30, joined the surveillance mission of the US military aircraft. Taiwan Strait.
The incident comes at a time of rising tensions between China and the US-led NATO, after alliance members agreed to collectively defend themselves against China’s “coercive behavior” while Beijing strongly rejected the military’s “slander and defamation”. Vol
