The British Prime Minister appears to be ignoring the security concerns of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – saying that cars in New York are “not really my priority”.
Rishi Sunak was answering questions on Friday about the couple “Near disastrous car chase” After the awards ceremony in Midtown Manhattan earlier this week.
Sonak told BBC When asked if he had concerns about the privacy and safety of the royals, he was unaware of a specific incident.
“In general, I will not comment on anything related to the royal family,” he said.
A spokesperson for the couple — who was in the Big Apple Tuesday for Markle to accept her Woman of Vision award at a special ceremony for the MS Foundation for Women — claimed they were involved in a two-hour chase with photographers that resulted in “near collisions.”
The incident occurred after the couple – their first public appearance since King Charles’ coronation earlier this month – left the 50th anniversary gala for Mrs. Fore Women’s Foundation on their way to a friend’s house on the Upper East Side.
NYPD and Mayor Eric Adams downplayed the car chase scenario.
