A Spanish tourist was gang-raped in India

Local media reported that a Spanish national was gang-raped last Friday night in Kurumahat in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

A Spanish woman said that she was gang-raped last night in Hanstiha police station area. Police are taking necessary steps including medical examination for him. Three people have been arrested. “Further investigations are on,” ANI quoted the Superintendent of Police, Dumka district as saying.

According to law enforcement, the incident occurred when the woman and her partner were spending the night in a makeshift tent. The tourist couple had come from Bangladesh to Dumka on a two-wheeler and were on their way to Bihar state before going to Nepal.

“It is yet to be established that she was raped, external injuries are visible, but medical tests are being carried out for internal injuries and other things. She is out of danger,” declared Anuguran Purdi, Superintendent of Faculty of Medicine, Pulo Jano College.

Meanwhile, the Press Trust of India reported that an official said seven to eight local youths were involved in the incident.

For his part, the victim's husband commented in a post: “They attacked us in the shop, beat us, put a knife to my neck saying they were going to kill us, and seven people raped her.” .

His partner, with blows all over his face, pointed out that the criminals had robbed them, but said: “We had very little and their real intention was to rape me.”
