An elderly British couple was found dead on a Caribbean beach, with the wife apparently drowning while trying to save her husband after he suffered a heart attack, according to cops.
Rosalyn Foster, 77, was found on Saturday at Leicester Paradise Beach on Carriacou Island, Grenada, with her 76-year-old husband, David John Foster, “lying in the sand” nearby, the Royal Grenada Constabulary Force said.
The husband was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife was later pronounced dead at the Princess Royal Hospital.
“The basic facts seem to indicate that the man may have had a heart attack and that the woman may have gone to help him, and may have drowned,” the sergeant said. Ardell Lewis He told BBC News.
An autopsy will determine the official causes of death.
The BBC indicated that the Foster family was retired and was vacationing with other family members on the island, which was voted the best Caribbean beach in 2022.
This tragedy came after an American couple were kidnapped and allegedly killed when three escaped prisoners hijacked their sailboat off the coast of Grenada.
The bodies of Ralph Hendry and Cathy Brandel – who were last seen near their catamaran moored on St. George Island on February 18 – have not been recovered.
