Revolution Lighting Awarded DoD Contract to Supply T8 LED Tubes to U.S. Navy

Revolution Lighting Technologies Inc. of Stamford, Connecticut USA a supplier of LED lighting to federal and military agencies, reported the U.S. Department of Defense (“DoD”) awarded the company a contract through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to provide 2,300 two-foot T8 LED tubes to the U.S. Navy.

The DLA provides worldwide logistic support to the U.S. military in both peacetime and war time for the U.S. Department of Defense. The agency also provides logistical support to several civilian agencies and foreign countries.

Revolution Lighting T8 LED Tubes Compliant with BAA and TAA

The DoD selected Revolution Lighting’s military specification certified LED tubes because their components comply with the Buy American Act (“BAA”) and Trade Agreements Act (“TAA”). This compliance guarantees that they meet the stringent specifications needed for installation on U.S. Navy vessels. The company produces the LED tubes at its new state-of-the-art Simi Valley production facility and warehouse.

The company previously won numerous contracts through the U.S. federal government and military including contracts with the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Marine Corps.

The T8 LED Tubes Boast 65% Less Energy Consumption and Come with 10-Year Warranty

According to Revolution Lighting, the LED tubes consume 65% less electricity than conventional, glass based, fluorescent lighting. Furthermore, the company asserts that its all plastic, shatterproof LED tube offers superior light output that can significantly improve visibility and safety standards throughout seafaring vessels. The LED tubes also boast a 70,000-hour lamp life and come with the company’s 10-year warranty.

Revolution Lighting points out that since 1975, nearly 20% of the federal government annual energy expenses and usage has been on electricity.
