Espen Launches Double-Ended, 8-Foot T8 Lamps

Espen Technology - Flex DE double ended, 8-foot TLED lamps

Espen Technology based in Santa Fe Springs, California USA has launched a new line of double-ended, 8-foot, A/C-Direct (UL-Type B) LED T8 lamps. The lamps are members of Espen’s Flex line of internal driver lamps. The 8-foot Flex DE lamps accept dual voltage at both ends (120/277VAC), and they come in 24W and 42W configurations with correlated color temperatures of 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K.

The lamps’ lumen output ranges from 3500 to 5500 lumens depending on the wattage. Their efficacies are up to 135 lumens per watt (LPW), with a color rendering index (CRI) of 83.

The 50,000 hour rated lifetime and a 5-year warranty help ensure a ROI for commercial retrofits.  The 8’ Flex DE lamps are compatible with controls and sensors, and the lamps work with shunted or unshunted sockets.  Optically, the lamps use frosted real glass diffusion to deliver an extra-wide 325-degree beam angle.

According to John Clancy, VP of Sales at Espen, “Our new 8’ Flex DE lamps allow A/C-Direct input from both ends, for faster and more convenient lamp replacement.  Allowing A/C-Direct input from both ends eliminates labor costs, shock-hazard, tombstone change outs, legacy ballast failures, and voltage leakage from single-end input lamps.  It even frees up two socket pins for dimming or emergency backup options for the lamps.  Espen’s new DE technology will expand this type of retrofit solution.”
