Official reports say three Venezuelan citizens and two Colombians were killed early Sunday morning on a farm in the Bedania municipality of Antigua, Colombia.
This information was confirmed by the Institute for Peace Studies (Indepass) via Twitter, and a total of five people were killed, three Venezuelans and two Colombians.
The Colombian organization highlights the need for “compliance with the state’s integrated balance and peace agreement,” while the New Granada newspaper reports that the event took place on a local farm.
“Last time many murders were recorded in Botania, which killed at least five people (3 Venezuelans and 2 Colombians),” Antiochia Governor Anapal Gaviria Korea said on Twitter.
The massacre took place at La Pogotana Farm, located in the village of La Primavera, which is part of the municipality of Petania.
The president added that due to this situation affecting the public order, an extraordinary Security Council was chaired by Antioch’s Secretary of Defense Jorge Castano, the EFE report said.
Officials pointed out that they are working to check if there are more victims, which is hard work because there are explosives on the farm.
Of the three Venezuelans killed, local media pointed out that one of them had been working on the farm for more than a year and the other two arrived at the scene two weeks ago.
Armed groups operate in Antioch, including the Guidanista Self-Defense Forces (AGC), also known as the Glan del Colpo, which fights with FARC and ELN dissidents for control of illegal economies such as war smuggling, illegal mining and smuggling. Risk the safety of the population in vulnerable and unsafe situations.
In November last year, the same municipality massacred 10 people on a farm in the village of La Julia, where men opened fire on coffee drinkers in the bedroom of fourteen farmers.
Three men and a minor were charged with murder, charged with aggravated murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, conspiracy to commit heinous crimes and using minors to commit crimes.
The massacre followed an incident the same month in which five people were killed in a village in the municipality of Neche, and in Antioch, where people were shot while chatting in a pool hall.
