Maturín Municipal Police (Polimaturín) officers detained 18 Pakistani nationals who were found in a wooded area in the Altamira sector of Rincón de Monagas.
The police department received an alert call from the community explaining that a group of foreigners were roaming suspiciously through the said department, which alerted the residents.
When the police commissioners arrived, the emigrants tried to flee, but in vain. They were immediately transferred to Polimaturin’s main headquarters, where they provided first aid, logistics and security.
